Welcome to Grand Mission - Grand Valley!

Welcome to Grand Mission - Grand Valley!  This is the blog for First Presbyterian Church of Grand Junction, CO.  "What's with the title?" might be the question at the top of your list.  Mission is not just a department in the church - the church itself is a mission.  Actually, being a part of a church should be the most grand and wonderful mission of our lives.  This blog will attempt to share different facets of our mission and ministry as a church, keeping in-mind our simple mission statement: to follow Christ and share his Word.  The primary places where we do ministry together are here in the Grand Valley: Grand Junction, Palisade, Fruita, Loma, Clifton, etc.  Many of our stories will be set in these wonderful locations.

This will also be a good place to direct folks who might ask, "What's going on at your church?"  We have a wonderful website with an ever-expanding calendar for events and ministries, but what we really want to talk about on this blog is what God is doing in and among us, both here in the Grand Valley and across the world Christ died to save.  Hopefully, these blog posts will help paint a picture of God's great work in the Grand Valley and around the world.

My goal is to write a new entry every other week and post it on our website at firstpresgj.org.  You can also access this blog directly at grandmissiongrandvalley.blogger.com.  Subject matter for the blog will include: life and ministry at FPC; stories of our neighbors and friends whom we desire to serve; reflections on the Bible, theology, ethics, culture; and, of course, baseball. :) Guest bloggers will contribute from time to time, and you are all invited to send questions, comments, or suggestions to my email address.  These weekly posts will be collected each month and made available in print at the church office, so if you know of anyone connected to the church who do not have computer access please tell them to contact the church office to receive a copy.

I’m excited to see where God leads us on this journey together.

Shalom,

Travis
